Maker Systems Engineer

Location: Bar-Lev, Israel

Ecoppia is looking for a Maker Systems Engineer, for its Innovation team as a rapid prototyping all-round player, with an emphasis on electronics and programming skills. Someone to run ahead of everyone in the R&D, to deliver proof of concepts and find the pivot points.

  • Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing prototypes together with Mechanical teams, developing fast cycles of code to test, learn and mature new technologies and capabilities
  • Collaborate with other teams to turn new ideas into a reality at minimum time and maximum stability
  • Taking ownership for new features, from mechanics to electronics to code
  • Passing on knowledge gained to other teams, and supporting them throughout a project’s lifetime


  • Engineering/Computer Science/Maths/Physics degree or comparable experience
  • Great system understanding, ability to zoom in and out constantly
  • 2+ years of experience in code writing:
  • Simple SW writing with knowledge of Python/LabVIEW or other language, to interact and control robots
  • Embedded systems microcontrollers - Arduino, STM, TI, or other
  • Can work with lab and workshop tools:
  • Basic mechanical work tools such as drill, screwdrivers, and cutters.
  • Using a DVM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, and solder
  • Basic Electronics/communication knowledge:
  • Reading electrical schematics
  • Basic RF understanding:
  • Knowledge of RSSI, physical layer
  • Operating a spectrum analyzer
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Great written and verbal communication skills - Hebrew and English



  • Electrical board debugging experience 
  • Working with Network analyzer and/or function generator
  • Experience in complex mechanical motion / robotic Systems
  • Knowledge of control loops and motion planning is a huge advantage
  • Experience working in Matlab
